When the opportunity arose for Americans to revisit Cuba, I eagerly pursued booking a trip. Despite having limited knowledge of its rich culture and historical significance, I was captivated by the allure of this once-taboo destination for US tourists due to the long-standing embargo. From the moment I set foot in Havana, it was as if I had been transported back in time. Cuba’s picturesque landscapes unfolded before me, void of American influence and modern conveniences. The sight of classic cars lining the streets left me in awe. The entire atmosphere was alive with vibrancy, and the locals exuded warmth and hospitality. While my exploration was confined to Havana, I immersed myself in the city’s history, delved into the Jewish heritage, savored exquisite cuisine, and enjoyed a mesmerizing performance at the famous Copacabana, accompanied by the finest rum and cigars. My unforgettable experiences in Havana have left me yearning to discover more of Cuba’s hidden gems in the near future.
