Several years ago, I arranged a family trip to Punta Cana, opting for a fantastic SLH resort. The main motivation for choosing this destination was the convenience of a new direct flight from STL offered by Frontier Airlines. At that time, finding a direct international route from STL was quite rare. While my memories of the Dominican Republic are somewhat limited, one experience truly stands out: attending a baseball game. Baseball holds the status of national sport in the DR, much like it does in the United States. The country has produced some of the finest Major League players who are incredibly passionate about the game. As a fervent baseball fan, witnessing a live game was a treat; as someone who craves unique experiences, it was an even more thrilling adventure. Live sporting events often serve as a window into the local culture and way of life, and this game was no exception. The atmosphere was electric, with the crowd exuding genuine investment and support, surpassing the typical enthusiasm seen in American games. Observing the disparities in the ballpark experience was undeniably fascinating.
