El Salvador is a country known for its high crime rates and limited tourism. However, I recently embarked on a 3-day trip to San Salvador, the capital city situated in the heart of this small Central American nation. Upon arriving in El Salvador, I was pleasantly surprised to find that prices were quite affordable. During my visit, I explored the picturesque countryside, visiting a charming coffee plantation and several quaint towns. Although I never felt unsafe, I chose to stay close to the hotel during the evenings. While El Salvador boasts beautiful coastal areas with pristine beaches, unfortunately, I was unable to venture there. Nevertheless, I took pride in supporting the struggling local economy by immersing myself in bustling markets predominantly visited by locals. While El Salvador may not be at the top of my list for future travels, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
